Clean and simple... found this stamp in a box of donated used stamps and just think it's so great sentiment for a hero card or for a hero to send home - IMHO it just doesn't need anything else. OWH VCMP CHALLENGE #2: MASCULINE NAUTICAL: A huge handful of M&Ms and a serious case of wanting to be on the OWH cruise making cards with a glass of wine nearby and I dared enter my craft room for the first time this year. Someone asked about "one sheet wonder" cards on the OWH Facebook page.. I can't find any on here although I swear I posted some but for the curious... here are a few pics... they are simple and can be dressed up with scallops, ribbon, different shapes for embellishments but the key is one sheet of paper and 4-6 folded white cards can go a long way

Scraps of time.... it's been a month, a long difficult month since we lost our boy Rio. Another local scrapbook store, Southern Scrapbooks, closed on Saturday. OWH midweek throwdown was to create a card for troops to send home to their childen. Okay, so last week the Game Day Dozen cards involved gluing little piece of paper to a bigger piece of paper which was one of my favorite things to do in kindergarten, I think. I'm still learning "masking" and coloring in teeny spaces with my Stampin' Up! markers and the little coffee cup and pot reflect that but I love the stamp and the sentiment for another take on an "i love you" sort of card that is truly gender neutral. My friend Sharon had this adorable girly-girl snail stamp. I stamped several of them on a new (less expensive) paper, hoping the Copics would work on the paper, but they "run." So I ran as well to my box of 20 for $5 AC Moore markers and voila! I'm not overly impressed with these markers by any means but they are okay for mass producing cards and some scrapbook borders etc...

Okay, so I only got 56 cards done Friday night at the crop but thanks to a great weekly challenge sketch on Operation Write Home on Sunday that is perfect for using up scraps, got 12 cards using that sketch done yesterday and another 16 using still more scraps after which I packed up stickers and stuff I've been lugging around and lots of bigger scraps to send to my great-nieces Reagan and Logan

The colors that are the inspiration for this week's midweek challenge are some of my favorite to combine.. pinks with olive, lime (and also brown)! I want this pillow for my den!Had already used the striped Paper Studio paper to make some cards I colored with Copics yesterday at Scrapbooks and Etc. so timing was impeccable on this one.. Get well card for a friend + stripes challenge from Sandy = apple is just what the doctor order.. Using up some Scenic Route paper, a Stampin' Up Studio stamp colored with watercolors and a renmant of lacy black ribbon from my scrap ribbon jar.
