Stampyland Fri-Dare-Day #1

I love Scrapyland, so I'm really happy they've got a sister site, Stampyland, for us stampers.

First Challenge on the new Stampyland Challenge Blog ) is a beach day card.. I love Just Rite stamps and this image which was colored with Copics. I have a friend who lives on the beach at Sanibel and this image reminded me of her lovely shell collection and the beautiful beach there = a "just because" card.

The Copic-Cabana!

For several months I've carried my Copics around the house and crops etc. with those snap and store units that never stayed snapped ... Since I'm retired on a budget (well sort of), I have Ciao, Sketch and a few "original" markers depending on what was on sale. Finding a way to store them has been a huge priority since I have different sizes and the "official" holders are rather pricey. My dear friend Peggy is closing her scrapbook store this month, selling the fixtures as well, and lo and behold there was this lonely acrylic shelf.. I really didn't think every marker would fit but I have 3 empty cubicles and all is organized by color, the new chart colored in, with one big "scratch off" on the to do list! It was a good evening, well except for poor Rio the wonder dog who was suffering thru thunder boomers while "mom" played with Copics until 2 a.m.!

Not the best at folding but a challenge is just that so.... Easel card I created for the 7 Kids Challenge blog square card challenge and Kaboodle Doodles' challenge to make a card with fold technique.

Let the 2011 Challenges Begin....

One of my New Year's resolutions was to take part in more challenges - they are so much fun and it's a great opportunity to find new artists etc.! So this is the first ever weekly challenge on a new blog, "Do You Stack Up? It looks like it's going to be a great challenge blog with wonderfully talented digital artists whose work we can chose from. Elle the Elephant here is just the cutest Valentine girl that I found at Spyder's Corner blog, and part of this challenge was to use buttons!Elle is colored with Copics (R81,85; C00, C01, C03, T4 primarily).

Magnolias & Copics = Coloring 101 for Grown-Ups

When I was a little girl one of my favorite things to do was color = dolls, flowers, Disney stuff -- anything but with at least a box of 64 Crayolas to get it all "just right." Fast forward five decades, 42 years working, 8 months of retirement it's come full circle! Now it's "big girl" coloring with rubber stamps that I'm still working to stamp right on the first try, cards that I've only been making for 8 months and now Copic markers which IMHO are just the coolest coloring things on the planet and worth every penny! Just can't have enough....

My first venture into Copics was in June using a hydrangea stamp I love and some free "Audreys" from the OWHStarsandstamps blog. This turned out better than expected so now it's on to the big time.



This is my first venture into the World of Magnolias. This little girl is called "Tilda with Vintage Roses" and I love her! The girl in the blue dress was my first attempt at hair, faces, etc. and the little girl in pink is a birthday card for my 3-year old great-niece, Logan, who won't notice all the little shading nuances I've yet to perfect but just loves anything pink! Soon it will be time to jump into some Magnolia challenges with my newfound friends Tilda and Edwin! Is it Irish Cream time yet?
