Bling It On!

Midweek throwdown a little challenging this time = bling cards without glitter and flaky bright stuff that falls off the cards... A few weeks ago there was a wonderful tutorial using aluminum foil which definitely added some "pop" to the cards.

I had already cut some cute "girly" pink and lavendar floral paper for card fronts. I used my new favorite Sizzix die aka Tim Holtz Vintage Flowers to some more flowers in the same palette, popped on a flat jeweled bling that I colored with Copic RV19 (yes you can color on bling like this and let it dry...) and then used my favorite card bling tool, the Stardust Glitter Pen, to highlight the polka dots on the big flowers and outline the centers. "Pop goes the card!"

Stampin' Up Saturday!

Can I just say that I'm so glad Maryanne G. tracked me down through the Stampin' Up website in March when I was sooo frustrated that I couldn't find a club nearby= If you ever need someone found, she's you gal! Surely a detective in her former life....

I've learned so much from Maryanne in just 3 short months, really enjoy my "Melon Mambo" stamp club, and am actually no longer intimated by the words "rubber stamp." Yesterday Maryanne had what I've found out is her annual "make and take" day and luncheon at her club for all her hostesses and club members and it was in a word fabulous! Twelve tables of make' n takes (7 regular cards, 2 sets of enclosure cards, 2 boxes and as scrapbook page), great lunch and, of course, chocolate! And we could bring a friend so hangin' out with my buddy Joanne made it even better!
