A Tale of Two Cards....

Why does everything "work" when I practice a technique and then doesn't when I finally set out to do the final card? Oh well, I am learning patience when it comes to cards and even though these would probably be really easy for more advanced scrappers/card ladies, the second with the flowers was a grrrrrr for me ;) I chose colors for this Stars & Stamps challenge -- red, yellow, purple and green -- that could be used for birthday cards for adults (including the guys) and for children, "thinking of you" and Mother's Day cards. I especially like the button balloon card (yes, I'm a "button" person) that was scraplifteed from a sketch I found in my "layout" file. I think I'm going to use this one for Mother's Day cards for the 15/15 challenge, using softer colors and flowers instead of balloons and then use this purple/red/yellow palette with diecut ballons for some birthday cards.

Card #1 - White card base, yellow gold paper scraps, Print Works "Love You Mom" stamp, Chalk Box Lipstick ink, Prima silk flowers with embossed flower centers (DCWV cardstock and Stampendous pale lilac embossing powder).

Card #2 - DCWV yellow cardstock, Bazzill red dotted swiss cardstock, jAmerican Crafts ribbon and buttons, DMC white floss for buttons, Inkadinkado "Celebrate!" stamp, Copic Green 17 marker for balloon strings.
