I just love my Stampin' Up "Sentimental Journey" and "Puns from the Past" sets so my problem with this challenge was which stamps to use! I originally thought I'd only use the Sentimental Journey set for scrapbooking since we travel a lot but then I found this wonderful "If only I had wings...." sentiment stamp at the Enchanted Cottage on Wednesday so it's now a card set as well! Just about all of the stamps in "Puns from the Past" will make great guy/gender neutral cards.... I did a close up of the "If only..." card so the sentiment is more legible. Loved this challenge!

Sketch Challenge 19!

Sheesh... when I was trying to think of a name of this blog, the "Scraps of Time" was intended to imply scraps of memories etc. preserved in time in my cards and scrapbook pages.. but lately I've spent too few "scraps" of time keeping this up and I'm going to to better.. and resolve to try to do all of the sketch and midweek challenges on StarsandStamps. I really enjoy the challenge of creating=now the challenge of making the time!

Okay, so this week's sketch I really love because it is so versatile. Since we have been talking more about "gender neutral" and masculine cards, I took the sketch and did the "thinking of you" card but also have another using the same Technique Tuesday stamp that I love that's a little less with the sketch but a little less monochromatic. Love the Bazzill olive cardstock in the sketch card but there's just not enough "oomph" in it~ (yeah, I know I forgot to add the sketch itself but... I don't know how to add another picture to this post w/out redoing it...)

Climb Every Mountain: Sketch Challenge #6

First I linked my entire post to the S&S blog... no, Caro, that's not how you do it. Then I visited a blog on S&S to comment on how lovely the card was and it did all kinds of crazy shenanigans to my poor laptop which took about 20 minutes to recover and much "rebooting" so maybe this card isn't meant to be ;) I have a glass of wine now (Facebook: A Glass of Wine Solves Everything) and if Facebook is right (and we know it always is!), I might get this right in the next 20 minutes.

Skipped last week's sketch as I was busy pondering my color challenge and this one was a bit challenging. I try not to look at the other cards that have been done, or not many of them, but again am in a "guy" mode (for the last time till Dad's Day cards next month) having done the shirt card a couple weeks ago and then the "gender neutral" (is that the appropriate term?) or masculine cards for most of my "15/15" cards last week. Shirt card will be reprised for Father's Day. This "thank you," "gracias," "merci" card is meant to be a card for a guy to send a guy. I used double sided scraps of Quick Quotes paper and colored in a few of the stripes and the "bullseye" area of the message circle with Copic Red 46.

15/15 and I'm Done for Today!

We have a "Half and Half" challenge to do 15 "anytime" cards and 15 Mother/Father's Day cards by March 15. I'm going to use a card that I did for the current color challenge for Mother's Day cards next week but I actually "cheated" and did 20 "hello" and "just a note" cards at Scrapbooks and Etc. last Wednesday. Used the "envelope" card design I did for the "stash" challenge (patterned paper and buttons) and did 6 of the cards with some Scenic Route double-side cardstock that was especially appropriate for "guy" cards.

Lots of bad news from Chile today and now waiting to see if Hawaii gets damage.. lots of prayers needed for these folks.
