Creative Chemistry: Day 5
Distress stains and spraying ink all over the place as lecture topic but thankfully only stains as technique part. I don't "love" any of these and all would be better stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink which surely is in shorter supply worldwide than his markers (which will be MIA from a lot of craft rooms when he discusses Monday). I'm not into the "layered grunge" which these for the most part are but I did find out what to do with the big 12x12 pad of Kraft Resist (tag on left) that I bought because it was on sale, and stamping with the picket fence stain (gate) is kinda cool. Some of these might be okay for vintage but not sure I'm feelin' the love although I do love my stains. No plans to buy spray ink... but Monday is distress markers... already snagged a dozen of these and can't wait to try 'em!

Beautifully done, Caro! Gorgeous tags :)
ReplyDeleteHi Caro! I am taking the same class. Isn't it great? I just love his techniques. Your tags are beautiful. I love the Kraft resist paper. I'm going to have to wait to play with the markers. My DH is giving me the full set for Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the tags.
hugs,
Ellen
Hi Caro,
ReplyDeleteNice to see your tags today in the Creative Chemistry Class! I'm totally loving it and hope you are too!
Like you, I am not a huge fan of lots of grunge or even a lot of really vintage things in the dark colors! I do however, love the soft more feminine look of vintage. I think we all have our own likes, and that's what is so cool and why it's so fun to see other people's creations. Even thought I would not necessarily make a lot of tags in my life or use many of the dark colors, I really do LOVE LOVE LOVE getting inky and love learning the techniques! I then change up the colors and stamps and make them my own, using colors and stamps that I enjoy!
I am very lucky, that I have my set of the Distress Markers and can't wait to see what we learn to 'do' with them next week. Have a great weekend and see you back in the classroom!!
Lisa
